I followed the steps on this tutorial ( http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-1934205/move-users-programfiles-x86-programdata-hdd-installing-windows-ssd-boot-drive.html ) to move users, program files, program files (x86), and programdata to clear space on my SSD however the users, program files, program files (x86), and programdata on my C drive that are shortcut folders take up the same amount of space as the actual folders on my D drive thus i do not save any space on my SSD. I am trying to keep my SSD for Windows installation only and everything else to be installed on my D drive what else can i try to keep my SSD from running out of space? Thank you in advance.

Well the tutorial said "you will never run out of space in your SSD anymore!" so i thought it would work. Can you suggest something else?

Doing all that (registry entries, etc) points Windows at different locations. But if you look, "Program Files" says it is on "C" (the SSD), but in reality it lives elsewhere.
This actually makes it very confusing. "Where the hell is my stuff?"

However.....the way I do it is to have the OS and applications on the SSD, and documents/games/other programs elsewhere.

With Win 7 and 8/8.1 it is easy to redirect the default Libraries locations.

Ok and to undo everything i must re-install windows again or is there another method?

Unsure.
You could try to go through that and select C instead of D....temp redirecting it back to the SSD.
I've never done that, and then had to go back. Will it work? .....back up any thing critical first :??:

Then, see this for a much easier redirect action:
Win 7 & 8: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-1834397/ssd-redirecting-static-files.html
Win 8.1: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2024314/windows-redirecting-folders-drives.html

This leverages the functions built into the 'Libraries' as far as redirecting. No regedits needed.
