Hey guys, this a good CPU ? Can it play games like lets say ....planet side 2 all those CPU intense games ? I have it paired with a gtx 660 which is a mid , high end card . So the GPU is good . I'm worried about the fx 6300 the pc comes with .... I was looking for Intel but dam they are expensive ... Even the i3... So This is the, only CPU I can afford . What do you guys think about this CPU ? Ca it run all the CPU intense games ? Like let's say the upcomming watchdogs or planetside 2 . All games I want to run on. Ultra of course . Will it be okay at factory clock ? Or do I need to overlock it . ? . Thanks in advance and once more no recommending intel . I don't want a i3 so that's not a option . So please don't say . Get a intel ! Because I won't . All help appreciated

I agree the 212 is better, but the TX3 is good for the FX 6300 and a safer recommendation due to case height. If case can handle the 212, I would go with the T4 instead. Only because I am lazy and it can use the stock mounting hardware on the motherboard.

it is indeed a good cpu for gaming, the problem is that some games still use only 2 or 3 heavy threads and the amd cpu have less power per core than intel, so some games like planet side 2 that wont use many cores will run better on intel cpu...watch dogs for example will use 6 to 8 threads and will run better on this 6 core cpu...future game will pretty much all use more cores...the gpu will be the weakest link the 660 will not play much games on ultra settings at 1080p and 60fps...you need a gtx770 or 780 to do that..

It will struggle on more CPU intensive games in multiplayer mode. I used it up until last August and, as an example, on 64 player BF3 on certain maps I would very often hover below 60fps. It's a great budget CPU, but if you can afford better, go for it.

Games "optimized" for multi-core processors will not cause low budget CPU's to suddenly become better. The Intel CPU's can still perform more tasks in serial than something like the 6300 can in parallel.

Of course it will make those 6 core or 8 core processors performs better, how could using the other available cores to process data in parallel won't help them perform better. Those CPU have a hard time with skyrim of thief for example cause those uses only 1 or 2 heavy threads they are built the way old games are built.
I'm quite confident that when the load will be spreaded across more core in games those CPU will outperfom quite a lot of quad core solution from intel..i would defenetly get something like an FX-6300 and a good cpu cooler if i was on a budget, in fact i got myself an FX-8320 tha i run at 4.4ghz with and i'm very happy with it i get epic performance in games with my GTX780, this CPU won't bottleneck the high-end GPU what's-o-ever and i'm sure it would be the same with the FX-6300
as it has the same cores and having 6 instead of 8 won't make a huge difference in todays games...might be helpful in the long run but not needed.

Not at a 1080p (1920x1080) resolution no, at least many of the new modern games won't run on ultra on this GPU, some older or not so demanding new games will run flawlesly...if you want good framerates and high settings in most games get the 760, if you want great framerates and ultra settings in most games get the 770, if you want EPIC framerates and ultra settings in every games get the GTX 780...

that being said a GTX660 will run every games out there on nice settings (medium/high) you just have to turn down or off the anti-aliasing and you're good to go at 1080p...as long as you can tolerate lowering the settings and maybe deal with some jagged lines in games it's still pretty nice, better than a console at least..

what games/series do you intend to play on that PC?

the Cooler Master hyper 212 is better than the TX3, if it fit in OP's case (the hyper212 is 158mm tall) i'd suggest to get this http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rr212e20pkr2 it's worth 29$ and will allow for monster overclocking...my FX-8320 CPU can run stable at 4.65ghz with 1.485v on the core and even with such on overclock my temps stay's at around 50c while playing BF4 multiplayer...very good CPU cooler and not expensive.
Anyway i think the TX3 is no longer available at the moment...

For the motherboard if you need to buy one for this CPU i would suggest the gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-ga970aud3p it is the best board for the price (89$) for high overclocks as it has an 8+2 digital power phase and good quality components and heatsinks...http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4717#ov awesome board for the price...only downside to it is that like every 970 chipset board it only has 1 pcie16x slot the other is 4x so it's not ideal for SLI/crossfire setups...
