Is the price worth it in this situation? Also, would the Asus Gryphon be better than these? Using these in a Corsair 350D case, which would be the nicest and most efficient?

Get one of the ASUS boards , They make better Haswell boards than MSI.

I myself won't touch MSI mobos, due to the poor QC, both Asus mobos are great, I especially like the Gryphon

So then now... What is better? The Gryphon or the Gene? Is it worth the extra money for what exactly?

Both are good, the Genie has a PCI-E 2 slot (full), and more USB ports and headers, also has the ROG FX sound, otherwise, not a whole lot comes to mind....

What about overclocking? And is the sound card actually good? Well I guess a red and black scheme is really nice looking too rather than a yellow-ish color.

The ROG Genie OCs a bit better, and handles DRAM better - the Gryphon states support up through 1866 but have run 2133 and 2400 sticks on them, the Gene can carry higher....I myself eally like the ROG mobos, I'm running the Hero

Is the hero recommended more over the gene? They are the same price but the case that I want with the Hero is more expensive than the 350D. Which is better in this occasion?

I like the full size ATX mobos, I test a lot of components on mine and have it pretty well loaded (in sig), case wise there's lots of good ones, could look at the HAF 912 about the same price, takes ATX mobos and is nice and roomy

I was looking into the NZXT Phantom 530 because I really like their design and it gives a good amount of room for a first time builder. Do you think that it is too expensive? I can roll with the Corsair 350D window. I really like small, compact builds because they are easy to move. Also, they don't take up a lot of space which is nice.
