Update:
The ONLY CPU on the list I linked that I think makes sense is the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80569q9550

Most of the other four-cores are either too expensive, or a lower frequency.

I'm not sure why the Q9550s is slightly cheaper, but also a lower TDP (TDP does not mean power used). When I looked it up online it seemed to overclock and be almost the same as the non-s version.

I still think you are best to save up your money and build a new system though.

Other:
If you have 32-bit Windows then you may also have a lack of System memory for games. Since 32-bit Windows can only address 4GB and that includes System and Video RAM (and minor other things), if you have a 2GB video card you have...
Hi,
You have an LGA775 socket and these are the supported CPU's for your exact board:
http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=3285

This is a site (US link) that sells LGA775 CPU's:
http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/cpu/#k=13&sort=d8

The PROBLEM with this is these CPU's are fairly old so you're going to pay $200 for a quad-core of similar FREQUENCY that would be better than what you have in some games, but possibly not much in some if they can't use multiple cores well.

World of Warcraft would give you about a 50% boost likely if you got a 4-core CPU of about the same frequency (not lower). See the 2-core to 3-core difference:
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/world-of-warcraft-cataclysm-directx-11-performance,2793-10.html

You really would need to get something like an i5-4440 + 1150 socket motherboard to see a huge benefit, and that would cost $100 more.

Unfortunately you'd then be building a new PC as you'd need a new copy of Windows, DDR3 memory etc.

I'll post some recommended parts below if interested, but frankly I don't recommend upgrading your current CPU.
