So I bought the GTX 760 for my build with the intention of maybe buying a 2nd one down the line, but now I really do not know if it is worth the money since I'm using a 27" 1920x1080 60hz monitor. It just irritates me when my fps dips, like on Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2, or Metro Last Light when there is a ton of stuff going on. So my question is, is there a clear benefit of me getting a second card? If so, how much of a performance improvement will I most likely see and will my Corsair 750w power supply be able to handle the extra card? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated!

Oh, and here are my system specs:
i7 4770k CPU
gtx 760 Video Card
4x2 gb Corsair 1866 RAM
ASUS Maximus VI Hero Motherboard
Corsair 750w 80 Plus Gold Power Supply

I personally would simply move up a rank to the GTX 770. The 2x GTX 760 should be good on numbers, but since you're lagging on 1080p, the second card won't do much of a improvement.

i would go straight for GTX 780, in the future you can add 2nd card for SLI
you can sell your GTX 760

As far as I know it shouldn't be freezing like that. The 760 is a nice card. Try some lower settings and see if it still lags. You may be having driver issues...

I wouldn't say I'm lagging, I just get dips in framerate when there is a lot of stuff going on onscreen. There has to be some benefit into running 2 gtx 760s in sli though...

The benefit is nearly double the performance but it doesn't work in some games. It's also much louder and hotter to use 2 cards.

I don't think it gives nearly double performance, It's more like 1.5 times the performance I think
1 expensive card is always better then 2 cheap ones.
