First of, i dont know much about win 8, which might be why it was such a problem to sort out, despite heavy web searching

my friend had this laptop, and it started acting up

basically it would deny her to do stuff sometimes, like install some programs and stuff

(first thing i did was to change the UAC slider since posts on web about win8 says that helped for alot)

after a little fiddling, i came up with the conclusion, well her user must not be an admin
since basically thats what windows claim each time "need admin privileges" to do this and that

but here is the kicker, in her accounts user settings it says she is the admin

yet, win 8 wont allow alot of stuff.. cant even run cmd without getting the "Not an admin" pop up

even stranger is, then i figured, well just gonna switch user to the admin
then win8 has like her user(name),
and 3 other identical users (her full name), where as i figured one of them(if not all) must be the admin,
but cant access any of those users, because password doesnt work
(and like why is there 3 users of "her full name" in the first place???

at this point i would just wipe the drive and start over.. but ofc she threw out the box(and everything that came with it) so got no recovery disk or boot disk or win 8 disk or anything...

so is there anyway i can get her win 8 to understand/read her user as an Admin(specially when it says so in her user settings)
or like break the password on those 3 weird "herfullname" users??
or just what the hell to do, to have admin permissions on the user 100%

note, cant even use System Restore Point, because its all so messed up with the permissions and such...

its just.. weird!

(i really dislike win 8 lol)

also in the permissions section in advanced security it reads kinda conflicting

her user is listed as Admin"name" too in the permissions with full access, but also listed as just User"name), with almost no access,
where as I, on my own system being the 100% admin, is listed as Admin"name", full access, and User"name" full permissions too

(and ofc cant change it because trying todo so win pops up with error because it wont read her user with Admin rights in that situation too)
