Hello.

So I have a prebuilt HP Pavilion model p6320pt desktop, bought about 4 years ago.

Recently the onboard graphics card it came with (nVidia GeForce 9100), has been heating the small heatsink on top of it to ridiculous levels (80Cº and above), to the point of crashing completely (monitor blinking between green/purple colors forcing me to turn the pc off). This was specifically when playing games like LoL or WoW, hell, even Minecraft, so I assumed it was dying.

I decided to buy a GeForce GT630 to handle gaming. The problem is, after putting it in, installing the most recent drivers, setting PCI-E as the main graphics adapter in the BIOS, disabling the iGPU in the devices manager (which, btw, only shows up in the list when i'm actually running the computer with it. Meaning I have to remove my GT630, start the pc with the 9100, disable it, then put the GT630 back, otherwise It wont show up for me to disable it), it will still heat up to scolding hot levels (can't put my finger on it for more than 5 seconds).

I realize my 300W PSU is at the limit of what the GT630 needs (min 300W), but that doesn't explaing why my iGPU, which should be disabled, is almost melting it's heatsink. Does it?

I should mention the PSU nor the GT630 ever heat up in idle.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
