Upgrading my GPU on a budget.

Hey everyone. My GPU is great, but very outdated, a GTX 285 (doesn't even have DX11). I'm looking to upgrade so I can get better performance out of my games and I'm just wondering if its worth it with all of my other parts. I don't have a lot to drop so I was just thinking of getting a 760 / 860 (if they're decently priced) sometime later this year.

Anyways Currently I have an
-i7 920 @ 2.67 GHz (non-OC'd)
-EVGA X58 SLI LE Motherboard (PCI-e 2.0, no USB 3.0)
-6 GB 1600 RAM (Clocked at either 1066 or 1333, because I haven't OC'd my processor)
-800 W PSU
-EVGA GTX 285 (mentioned above).

I'm sure I'll see a bit of a bottleneck from the lack of PCI-e 3.0 and an older generation of i7, but I was wondering if it would still be worth it to upgrade.

Solution
you can get a GTX 750 for aruond $100 after rebates... or the 750ti for like $130. these are about twice as powerful as your 285 and you wouldnt need to upgrade anything else.

anything more than that, and you're just overpowering your CPU's ability and wasting it anyway.

If you were willing to OC your CPU, with a decent all in one liquid, I know the 920 can get up to 3.2 to 3.6ghz range.
THen you might want to bump up to a 760.

PS... why is your ram running at 1066? that's slowwwww. no matter what your CPU is at, you should set your ram to 1600 in bios!
