I currently am looking to upgrade my GPU from a gtx650 ti boost to either a gigabyte 770 or 780. The 770 is £200 and the 780 is £350.
Is the 780 worth £150 more?
and if so will I need to increase my PSU to a higher wattage then 650W?

Solution
If you are coming from a gtx 650 ti a 770 is already a massive upgrade so for you I wouldn't suggest getting the 780 as it would be a waste of money as the 770 can max almost anything at 1080p anyway. 650W would be fine for either as long as it is a decent brand and has enough pci-e connectors.

While I agree the 770 will max everything out right now already, the 780, having more power and more VRAM, will last much longer into the future than the 770. If you are fine with spending the 350 quid on the 780, I would go for that, since it will last you longer. Otherwise, the 770 is a great choice :)

As long as the power supply is of good quality, 650w is more than enough :) A system running a 780 or 770 will use around 350w MAX at peak load.

Thanks for all the help so far. I made a mistake I actually have an OCZ CoreXstream 500w PSU. My CPU is an FX-6300 but I was thinking about overclocking that before buying a new CPU. Im swaying more towards the 770. Will 500W be enough?

And I use 1080p no higher
