i think it's holiday season(summer) and the announcement of new graphic cards can reduce older graphic cards prices,??
also at affordable prices we can also buy next gen gpu,??
i was planning buying r9 280x by the end of this month should i wait for the new series
how much time should i take is this a good time to buy a gpu

The newer GPU's from AMD just launched a little more than 4 months ago and the new series from Nvidia aren't expected until 2015 so I'd expect everything to be like it's right now for a while so I don't think is worth waiting.

More or less, as they are almost all of them rebrands with slight optimizations from the 7000 series (except the Hawaii based R9 290(x)) but there are no expectations from anything newer as both companies are right now stalled due to delays on newer manufacturing process so the GPU market is really slow right now.

Nvidia released their 800 series for laptops and they're just rebrands of the latest series, with the exception being the newer 850m and 860m which are the laptop versions of the just released 750 and 750Ti.

i am not a gpu expert but i have heard something about amd's mantel i have no idea what this means

got it
now will DX 12 work on r9 series cards
