I had some really good advice the first time I ever posted on this site and am hoping to again-)
Short story purchased a PC build last year but when I needed warranty the company had shut down so I decided to try and upgrade my pc as I could not afford a new one and received some great advice on this forum about that procedure.
Due to budgeting I went with
AMD FX-8350 processor
The Gigabytes GA-970 motherboard I upgraded my NVidia 650Ti to the GeForce 770 and added Samsung 250GB SSD 840 EVO – SSD
The techie putting my pc back together said my power supply was good enough
EZCOOL PS-1000800W 80PLUS 12v rail PSU
We kept the same pc case an EZCOOL NA-705B ATX CASE
My 8GB ram was fine so I stayed with that for now.
Everything was running fine for around 8 days until I started to play the Sims 3 game with base game and all 9 other expansion packs reinstalled then suddenly the pc started to shut down within 5 minutes of playing.
I contacted my techie who said he thought the motherboard could be overclocking wrongly and presumed it must be a heat problem so I ordered the Antec P280 Case and the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO (120mm) in the hope it will help but I will have to wait until he has time before my PC is able to do much under any load.
I started to try and understand about temperatures and found my way into the BIOS where it stated CPU 48oc BCLK 2001.00MHz Vcore 1.320V Dram voltage 1.476V and this is with nothing else running I wonder is this a high temp when hardly using the PC?
I was trying to find the graphics card temp, the motherboard and processor all separately but I think I am misunderstanding how to read it and know what it means I just know that most people say it’s a temperature problem when a PC shuts down?
Could anyone explain to me exactly what I need to be looking at as I prefer to have some knowledge than just rely on someone else to do everything or will the case/fan I have just bought solve the problem?
Could it be a faulty part and if so how can I check that?
