Any game which is post 2010, which contains any of the following:
Open world
FPS
RPG/Economy
A good story
(Can be linear, in the style of Mass Effect)
Nice visuals
TPS

All Bethesda games (F3, NV, Skyrim etc.)
Deus Ex
Mass Effect
RAGE
Borderlands series
(Hopefully this can also give a good insight)

Dead Island Riptide [FPS, open-world, ability leveling, weapon crafting/upgrading, loot]

Tomb Raider 2013 [3rd-person, open-world, ability leveling, weapon upgrading, nice graphics]

Devil May Cry (DmC) 2013 [3rd-person, ability-leveling, nice graphics, cool level design]

Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings [RPG, nice graphics, awesome FMVs, nice story] Although this one contains lots of violence and graphic nudity.

Metro Last Light [FPS, nice graphics, sequel to Metro 2033, shops, weapon upgrades] This one also has graphic nudity, so beware.

Dishonored [FPS, open-world, stealth, leveling, shops, ability and weapon upgrades, great story, cool art style]

Sleeping Dogs [3rd person, open-world, variety of gameplay, nice graphics, ability upgrades, interesting story] This one has a lot of very graphic violence

Edit: that's plus what RCguitarist suggested. Those are very nice games too.
