I get the following error when trying to do so:

(Samsung Magician 4.3)

I Googled it and the results were inconclusive. One guy said he managed to fix the issue using an older version of Samsung Magician, and so I went and found myself a Samsung Magician 4.2.1 (couldn't find an earlier version than that) installation, and went ahead to try, only to find out that it was still unable to perform the task, with a new error:
"Please check that the drive is not being used by another process and try again."
I made sure to close everything opened, and tried again, but the result was the same.

I then kept on Googling and found out that some people have done it manually using windows tool, Disk Management, with "Shrink Volume", and so I tried it.

It now it looks like this (back to Samsung Magician 4.3):

How do I continue from here? Couldn't find a solution =[

Thanks!

Well, as i always tell my co-workers, the Shrink giveth what the Shrink wanteths. You might have to use a 3rd party partitioning tool.

Like which?
and just in general, I'd very much prefer to understand the issue with Samsung Magician..
it can't be that I can't because <no reason>, and I'd very much like to know what'd caused this and how it can be resolved

thanks =[

It appears that your Samsung ssd is the primary boot drive with an operating system installed on it.

Which operating system did you install?

Did you do a clean install or did you use a software cloning application?

Prior to installing the operating system did you by chance format the ssd? If you did, what settings did you use?

It's a new computer build.
Installed Win 8 64bit Pro VL edition (activated using KMSpico)
As you'd conclude from the above answer; a clean install
Did not format, again, because it's a new and untouched SSD

Thanks!

Great - except for the activation!

The KMSpico application is probably the culprit. It relies on a hacked version of Windows. Lots of problems with Win 8 and 8.1.

You indicated you have a VL version of Windows 8 which is a business enterprise version. The VL stands for volume license. The VL version was designed primarily for use by OEM's and businesses registered with Microsoft who purchased a volume license. Why didn't you just use your product key and MS activation?

umm I downloaded the Windows using a torrent, yeah? =[
IT didn't mention anything about a product-key, I think you're mistaken my copy for an original one? If it's forbidden to discuss such things here so I'm sorry

The reason I picked VL version is because I read that it can be activated using a master key and then the machines with this have to re-activate every 180 days, and so I figured it will be easier to activate, and then when I got done with installing Windows, I searched for the best possible activator and saw the the KMSpico one is pretty praised, and so I went for it and figured it doesn't really matter

What can I do now? Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks D:

Between torrent and KMSpico there isn't much hope.

The correct solution is to first purchase your own retail copy of Microsoft Windows which will come with a product key code. Then use the Samsung SSD Magician and a USB flash drive to perform a secure erase. The secure erase will wipe the ssd clean an prepare it for use. Next install Windows. During the installation Windows will ask you to type in the product key code. Near the end of the installation you will be asked you to activate Windows by simply clicking on a link. That's all there is to it.

I think there might be a misunderstanding about the activation. The only time a consumer needs to activate Windows is when the consumer installs or reinstalls Windows. Activation is part of the installation process. There is absolutely no need for consumers to use an activator. In addition there is no reactivation every 180 days. That is a completely different situation that only applies to certain business/enterprise volume licensing situations. Here is the information straight from Microsoft:

"The 180 Activation Period only applies to companies that use volume activation under a type of licensing called KMS (Key Management Server). To stay compliant, company computers must reactivate against a KMS every 6 months. Companies can also use MAK (Multiple Activation Key) which works similar to a store bought key where you activate it 1 time and don't think about activation again."
