Hello All , iam going to build a Gaming PC soon So icant make a decision between 2 CPUs and two GPUs

first here are the components that ill get

-Western Digital (WD) Caviar BLUE WD10EZEX 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 7200 RPM 64M

-Thermaltake Chaser A31 Mid Tower

-Kingston HyperX Beast 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 2400MHz CL11 1.65V

-Cooler Master V6GT CPU cooler

-Cooler Master Extreme 2 725W PSU

the proplem is in deciding between the processors : Intel Core I5-4670k Haswell 3.4GHz 6M LGA 1150 Processor OR AMD FX-9370
Vishera 4.4GHz Socket AM3+ 220W Eight-Core Processor

and the Graphic Card : Gigabyte GTX 780 GHz Edition 3GB GDDR5 (GV-N780GHZ-3GD) OR SAPPHIRE TRI-X R9 290X 4GB GDDR5 With the reason of your answer

--THANKS for any help you can offer--

Solution
Between the i5 and 9370, the i5 will be about equivalent in gaming, and better in general computing, but will run MUCH cooler, and therefore quieter, than the 9370.

On the GPU, I would definitely get the 290x if the prices are similar. It's better than the 780.

I'd get some different RAM, CAS11 means it'll perform about the same as CAS9 1866, and 1.65v is outside of Intel's spec. Not saying it won't work, but it won't have any benefits compared to Cas 9 1866 RAM, but will put more strain on the memory controller. For long term, it's not a great solution.

Thanks for the help for the ram is the G.skill RipjawsX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1866 CL9 1.5v a good one and can you suggest a MOBO
and why the r9 290x not the GTX 780 GHZ edition ?

Yeah, that would be perfect RAM :)

Went 290x over the 780, as it's a bit faster, and is a beast lol

A good motherboard depends on your budget for it. For what you're looking at and listing here, the ASUS Maximus Hero is a great board, but if you want to save some money, the ASRock Z87 Extreme 4 is also a very good board for the money.

Hello,, I would go with intel setup.. I own the fx-9370 and as of today there are still only 3 compatible mobo's for this cpu.. I have the asrock 990fx extreme 9 edition, 32gb gskill ripjaws-z 2133mhz which I have to run at 1600mhz because pc wont post at 2133 or 1866mhz,, the FX-9370 has the same memory controller as the older Bulldozer cpu's. Which I thought was the biggest issue with the bulldozer and hoped they would change it for vischera,, but NO! also the asrock has a very small memory compatability list in terms of performance DDR3. Im not sure about the asus crosshair or the gigabyte board which might as well not exist as it is never in stock ANYWHERE! I was able to overclock to 5.0ghz shortly for 3dmark11 basic 720p benchmark with 2 EVGA GTX-680's 4gb in sli and got a score of 14614. The most I can overclock for prolonged periods using my thermaltake water 2.0 performer closed loop water cooler was 4.6ghz and after one 64p map of BF3 my temps were 70c,, which is why I have a xspc full watercooling kit coming! Anyway,, if you havnt already been sucked into the hype like me,, I would go with intel system,, way more mobos out there,, better memory controller, pcie-3.0, and accepts a wide variety of performance DDR3.. If AMD would fix their memory controller and memory compatability,,and stop overclocking existing technology and calling it NEW, there cpu's would probably smoke intel.,,
Here are some FPS from games I have:
BF3/ultra-120 fps ARMA 2 OP. arrowhead/ultra-70fps HAWKEN/ultra- 140fps NFS world/ultra-120 fps
Startrek online/ultra-119fps all fps at 1080p
Also I would go with GTX graphics,,, many old, new and future games require PhysX,, while you can download a program for AMD cards,, GTX cards have the chip built in.. Also I have suffered through way more catalyst control center failures than any one person should be subjected to!! Nvidea drivers never fail.. Also I would not recommend a mid tower case for the FX-9370,, If you want to game at all you are going to need some kind of watercooling kit either a closed loop system,, which is ok if you keep clock at 4.4ghz,,but overclocking anything on this cpu increases temps dramatically and requires a full kit,, like available at frozen cpu .com.. or XSPC.. A mid tower case is fine for the intel chip as it is like 86TDP while the FX-9370 is 220tdp ,, intel generates a lot less heat.. Also your 750w psu might not cut it.. I had a 1000w kingwin PSU,,and after installing my second GTX-680 and put any load on it my battery backup and surge protector started screaming at me, So more money out the door for an EVGA supernova 1300 and no more angry surge protector! anyway,, intel might seem more expensive at first,, but all the surprise added cost you need to make a FX-9370 system fully functional is equal if not more expensive then intel..
That is all! Have a nice day..
