Hello,
I am building a new system and I've run into a problem. This is the situation so far.
I have a 430W PSU plugged into the MSI A88X mobo which is sitting outside of it's case on glass to rule out grounding issues.
I have the Athlon X4 installed in the mobo with stock cooling. I've plugged in the 24pin power connector and the 8 pin CPU power along with the RAM.
Nothing else is plugged in.

When I try to turn the system on, the CPU fan comes on for a fraction of a second, same for the PSU fan and then it immediately turns off.
I swapped out the motherboard with a different one but I'm still having the same problem. I do not get any beep error codes and there's no LED display on the mobo to indicate any errors. I physically examined the CPU pins a couple times to see if anything was bent or damaged but it all looks good.

Does anyone have an idea on whats going on?

The motherboard features support for APU with integrated AMD Radeon™ HD 8000/7000 series graphics:
* To use the onboard graphics port, you must install an AMD A-Series APU with integrated graphics.

Athlon X4 X4 750K is compatible, however an Athlon X4 is not an AMD A-Series APU. It is a CPU without graphics. A video card would be required without an AMD A-Series APU.

For example, a A10-6800K is an AMD A-Series APU.

Thats what I thought as well when I took a closer look at the mobo specs. I returned the X4-750k and purchased an A6-6400K (says A series on the chip)
But I'm still having the exact same problem, the cpu heat sink fan spools up for a tiny fraction of a second and turns off. I plugged in a video card as well to try and rule out the Video being an issue but still same problem.
I tried the RAM in each DIMM individually then in 1/3 and then in 2/4. No go each time it was the same. I plugged in speakers into the onboard sound card to see maybe if the system was producing any beep error codes but nothing.

The mobo is FM2+ and the CPU is FM2 but as far as I know, this is just fine.

Any ideas?
