Hi pros, i need advice. I am aware and have read alot about the intel and amd chips about their integrated graphics and it seems AMD seems to be better, now for my question, forget about the graphics they have inside the chip and i add a r9 280x toxic. Which chip would appreciate the gpus power more and operate better. The amd seems to be all about integration. are they a good stand alone cpu. (at such a cheaper price) I really like gaming but an all round pc would be good. I do not seem to be able to find any discussions on this.

Hope you can help,

Thanks

You can save even more money by just getting an Athlon x4 750k or Athlon 760k they're the same cpu just without the built in graphics, and a cheap but still decent FM2 or FM2+ motherboard.

My bro paired a gtx 660ti with his a10 5800k and from the gameplay I've seen of him playing stuff I can't tell too much of a difference between the two pc's we have, I still need to sit down one day and try his pc out on BF4 multiplayer though.

I'd really recommend on a budget at least go AM3+ with the fx6300 6 core though. Ideally an i5 is worth it, by the 280x gpu I can tell you're trying to play stuff on ultra which is a good gpu but there's no getting around that intel is better.

CPU wise the 4670k will beat the pants off any APU. If you want a decent AMD cpu then look at the FX 8320 or 8350 but even there the 4670k is usually faster in games.

The 8320 is a good bet if you are willing to overclock it at some point, the 8350 just boosts the clock a bit. (both CPU's are recommended to have aftermarket coolers), but it is still good at stock speed. but the 4670k will probably get you what you are looking for in performance. alternatively you could get an non-k series i5 if you have no intention of overclocking or are planning to use the stock cooler. I also would never recommend getting an AMD APU and adding a graphics card, as the cores are not quite as powerful on their own, and it really is not designed for adding in a graphics card.

Generally speaking games performs better with Intel CPUs vs. AMD CPUs. The performance varies depending on the game. It could be a mere 2% or it could be a 12% difference in FPS. Skyrim is probably very unique in that it overwhelmingly favors Intel CPUs. The performance gap between stock speed Intel and AMD CPUs is roughly 30%.

However, as I stated it is a unique situation. But if Skyrim is a game you will be playing or if you are waiting for Fallout 4 to be eventually released, then Intel is the way to go. I am not familiar with Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) so I do not know what game engine it currently uses. Fallout 4 will use a modified version of the Creation Engine used for Skyrim.

games will run better on intel. They still run well on an FX 8 core, even a highly clocked 6 core FX will do alright in games. Where they shine is in raw computer power, and with programs that are specifically designed to run on all cores in parallel (streaming + gaming, or rendering videos or large 3D scenes, or HEAVY multitasking/ running many programs side by side at once; itunes, word processor, and web browser running all at once is hardly multi tasking though :p  )

Intel i5 4670k for sure , less heat . MUCH less bottleneck with Crossfire or SLi setups . & much less bottleneck with Single GPU too :)

dont decide by integrated graphics because you will probably never gonna use it . integrated graphics ( no matter how good they are ) ARE NOT FOR GAMING . yes amd might have better integrated graphics . but if your looking for the least bottleneck & most performance then go for intel .

dont think im fan of intel products that much :D  . all im saying is based on my own experience & what i always hear & see

The i5 is a much much much stronger CPU. The AMD APU is a much better igpu .

Ultimately though if u want more performance in games u can add a dedicated graphics card for 150$. Adding a graphics card to an i5 would make worlds of difference but adding one to AMD would make little to no difference
