SSD not showing up

I have a Asus ROG laptop G75 series and I have room in my laptop for one more drive. I popped in the SSD drive , booted up the computer and its no where to be found. Went to device manager to scan for hardware changes and nothing came up ether. It is plugged in...have I done something wrong?

Yes... Ya haven't looked to see if it shows up in BIOS

It's real hard to do one and not the other with a 2.5": drive but did ya make sure that both SATA and power connections are full seated ?

To be honest I have no idea how to check the BIOS. I went to best buy told them what laptop I had and what I needed to do. They said "Oh just pop it in." Im starting to think that geek squad needs to go back to school.

As for the power connections being full seated, I have no idea. I would only assume they are because I have two ports built in the laptop.

None of these worked and I was unable to access the bios screen.

I found the SSD in bios but am in the process of figuring out how to access the drive.

Assuming you want to install OS on it.

1. Take Out HD
2. Put in SSD
3. Boot to BIOs
4. Make sure it's there
5. Put in OS DvD or USB w/ ISO
6. Install Windows
7. Shut down and replace HD
8. Boot to BIOS and set Boot Priority

So im in the bios and I see both drives and and CD drive but I'm not sure what to do in this screen.

I wanted both the drives in there I just want the SSD for gaming and videos. I don't know if this makes a difference now.

I have no idea what happened but the drive has now appeared and is working. When I was in bios I reseleced AHCI and saved and I believe that has possibly made it show up. Thank you for your help man I appreciate it.
