So I was playing games on my pc when it all of a sudden froze up, when I switch it off and back on the PCI unit wasn't working and the LED isn't on. When I look at my connection it sayd no connection is available, I'm not fantastic with computer terms or anything so sorry if I get lost!

Most wall sockets in the US are wired back to a breaker/fuse panel. Be sure the circuit protection hasn't tripped.
If you are plugged into a switched outlet, you are asking for trouble anyway. Never do that. Always plug into a non-switched outlet.
Check your PC by plugging it into a known-working wall outlet in some other part of the house.

If still no joy, you will need to start troubleshooting. The first place to look is the PSU. You can remove it from the PC and use the paperclip trick to see if it starts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_2250900693&feature=iv&src_vid=khpnx21oydg&v=ixcWCrYpw3Y

That will determine if it is functional. To see if all the correct voltages are being output, you will need a voltmeter. This is what you should read at various points on the 24 pin connector: http://pinouts.ru/Power/atx_v2_pinout.shtml

If you don't have access to a voltmeter, you can pick up an inexpensive PSU tester like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16899261023

If the PSU tests OK, my next thought would be that the MB died. Not much you can do in that case other than replace it.
