Trumpets / horns distort. Have a project turntable with blue ortofon stylus. Levels are fine. Is it the soundcard and if so what is the best card to use?

If you're sure its not the turntable or stylus then check the software, you want to make sure your sampling at least 4x higher than the sounds frequency. ie- your not going to get decent 20khz by sampling at 48khz. Which soundcard do you have?
