I'm looking to build a desktop exclusively for gaming, my budget is $1200 and I'll need a screen and keyboard also. The kind of games I'll be playing are the total war series and dayz and I'd like to run these games as well as possible. Any help is much appreciated.

ASRock 990FX Extreme3 doesn't support FX-8350 CPU due to thermal issue!

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/unclema0/saved/4qIz I think you should get my build above other two because the fx 8350 is slower than the i5-4670k when it comes to gaming and the fx 8350 is more optimised for productivity stuff (video editing and such) and not only that my system is overall alot less power-hungry and my ssd is double the capasity of everyones else's and my gpu is far more powerful than the two above

I think Ahmadjon's build is a good choice to consider. The games you playing favors Intel more.

I don't recommend unclemao's build. If you are getting a Intel K processor, you should really get a Z87 motherboard to have the ability to overclock. Also SSD is optional and doesn't increase gaming performance, only boot times and loading times for programs installed on it.

So your telling me that 90% of games are 'favored' towards intel? The reason why my build is better at gaming is that most games only use at most 4 cores where the AMD fx 8350 has 8 slower cores compared to the i5-4670k.
2. look at the build again -.-
3.Look at how much more powerful my gpu is compared to Ahmadjon's build i have a gtx 780 while he uses a gtx 770.
4. SSD loads games quicker improving the experience not the fps.

This is the build you linked:http://pcpartpicker.com/user/unclema0/saved/4qIz
Correct me if i am wrong but that is a B85 motherboard

total war series and dayz
For the games he planning to play, Intel favours them. I didn't say 90% intel is favoured. You plucked a number for that.
SSD is optional if budget allows.
GTX 770 is fine for 1080p gaming anyway.

1) He isn't telling you that 90% of games do better on Intel processors, he is telling you that SOME games go better on Intel CPUs.

2) THAT IS NOT A Z87 MOTHERBOARD.

3) The only reason you could add a 780 and Ahmadjon couldn't is because you used a B85 motherboard, no aftermarket CPU cooler, a $19.00 case, a bad power supply, and a cheap monitor that doesn't even have HDMI. And even if you went for that monitor, it is still 21.5", and a 780 becomes overkill on a 21.5" screen.

4) Load times and performance are two completely different things. Load times are measured in seconds or minutes, while performance ins measured in frames per second (fps). You can slap in a Samsung 840 EVO into an Apple II, and LOAD TIMES will be faster, but it is still an Apple II. (And this was just an example, you cant ACTUALLY put an SSD in an Apple II and expect it you work.).

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/unclema0/saved/4qK8, And while the gtx 770 is fine for 1080p gaming higher resolution monitors have been dropping in price and if he wanted a 1440p setup or even a 4k setup all he has to do is to add another gtx 780 for the 4k setup and he if he wanted a 1440p monitor he could easily play on 1440p while the gtx 770 would struggle a little bit.
