Perhaps the problem lies elsewhere, but from what I've been reading the most likely culprit of receiving "no signal" from my monitor is that older MSI 970A-G46 boards weren't compatible with F6300 until a BIOS update provided compatibility with Vishera CPUs. After booting up my new rig everything appears to be in working order - fans are spinning, lights are on, and drives are moving. I bought the mobo refurbished and can't figure out the BIOS version (I believe the Vishera update was v1.10) and not sure which is installed. The information printed on the board is MS-7693 v2.0. Is the BIOS version evident from this information?

Most importantly, if it is a problem with my BIOS version what are my options on moving forward? I do not have an older CPU to plug in - the only other resources at hand are a laptop, flash drive, and external drive. Could I blindly or have a program automatically flash a BIOS update?

I have check and rechecked and rebuilt all the connections in the PC with no results, and am almost positive that the mobo is not touching metal on the case. What might be some other possible problems if the BIOS version is not the issues?

The information printed on the board is just the model number - nothing to do with the BIOS version as the BIOS chip is made by a different company.

The current BIOS version should come up on the screen as it boots up, or can be seen by accessing BIOS Setup.

EDIT: Because of your current problem you need to plug in an older CPU that allows the system to boot properly, update the BIOS for Vishera compatibility and then plug in your new CPU.
