Hello everyone
I have my PC for over 4 years and every 6 months i replace the old thermal paste with new one at GPU,CPU and chipset .
The last time I've done that process i try booting up my pc but a weird sound is coming off when i have my 4pin CPU power connector connected . When i take this cable off my pc works without this weird sound but ofcourse I have no display .
In conclusion: All fans work correctly , i have tried connecting only the 4pin,24pin and one stick of ram , i am sure i have connected everything correctly , I have reseat the GPU,CPU,RAM many times ! , I haven't done any upgrade everything is exactly the same !

MOBO: Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L
CPU: Intel Pentium E5200
GPU: Palit nVidia GeForce 9500GT SUPER 1GB DDR2
RAM: 2 x Kingston 2GB KVR667D2N5/2G 1.8V DDR2
PSU: LPK9-4 500W

are you sure there isnt any thermal paste on the socket or under the cpu or on the sides? does the cpu socket have any bent pins? look carefully. are you sure you havent got any thermal paste on the components.

this happened my cousin before.he got thermal paste on the mobo or gpu. he cleaned it but it didnt work so he got a new mobo and it worked just fine. your mobo is probably shorted out. it can probably not be your mobo it can be your psu.
