my monitor keep flickering at 1280x1024 at 75 herts on my new window 7, i7 4770k computer. my GPU is geforce gtx 550ti. i transfer that gpu from my old gigabyte pent 4 comp and it had no problems with the same monitor. On my i7 comp the gpu drivers are all updated. i tried trouble shooting from window 7 but it didnt display any problems. any suggestions?

If it's that old, the cfl backlight is probably nearing the end of it's life. BUT also try running it in 60hz mode. On most lcd monitors, 75hz is just there for compatibility, it still only shows 60 of those 75 hz. Also running it in 60hz over a vga (or dvi-a) will make the image sharper, as it's not pushing the bandwidth of the analog signal.

i tried running it on 60 and 75 hz yet the screen still flickers on my i7 computer. if i move the geforce gtx 550ti gpu back onto my gigabyte pent 4 computer and use the monitor at 1280x1024 resolution at 75 hz it does not give me the flicker. my gpu is auto OC'ed from 900mhz to 970mhz when i bought it btw. the gpu does not have vga, it uses DVI.

sometimes it does not flicker but most of the time it flickers. it doesnt flicker when i set the resolution to 1024x768

Did you try uninstalling your gpu drivers then re-installing the latest STABLE driver NOT the beta driver? If you haven't head over to the control panel and search for nvidia, you should find a program called "NVIDIA Graphics Driver (Driver Version)." Uninstall that driver then restart your computer. After restarting, your system may automatically download the driver or you may have to head over to nvidia's site and manually download it there. After re-installing the driver, restart your computer again. Hopefully the problem will disappear after this.
