Okay so heres the story: I've been getting BSODs for awhile. In an attempt to see if my ram went bad or if its a mobo/driver issue I ran memtest. So I got a crap ton of errors, but thats not the important part. Having seen the errors I took out my ram in an attempt to see which stick (or if both) went bad. Afterwords however I could only cold boot (no display/accessories booting). After moving the ram around through slots to no avail, I in the end just hit the reset button on my mobo (I'm assuming this is to reset CMOS) and got it to finally boot up that way. I had to repeat this again upon another reboot though, so I upgraded my bios (which as far as I can tell fixed that issue). However now I have another problem... I can't get any audio through my headset. Don't think my mic is going through either. I can get sound from my monitor, but not the headset. I know the headset is fine since it’s working on my laptop. I've tried reinstalling the audio drivers but that did nothing. I really don't know what to do at this point. Also I have already went through my playback options and when I try to set speakers (aka headset) as default when I have my headset plugged into the back port, it won't let me (greyed out), but if I do it from the front I don't get anything. I have an Asrock 990fx Extreme 4 mobo for the record. I don’t want to think the headphone jacks suddenly died on me while just moving some ram… they were fine before.
