Is AcBel a good manufacturer

Good day
Im here to ask a question about my power supply. By the way my power Supply is GIgabyte Greenmax 550watts 80+ bronze. (with peak 700watts)

Is Acbel a good manufacturer. I mean is this a good brand of power supply? Can this power supply is trusted that it can suffice a 550 watt unit and with an 700 watt peak wattage?

By the way my system is:
i5 3570
EVGA GTX 660
128gb samsung pro ssd
500gb seagate hdd
asus p8z77 m pro
8gb ram

Generally AcBel is not a trusted brand.

For that system, you don't need more than 500W. Get a good one from the second link in my sig.

AcBel Is not so good But it will go and you will need a psu with 500W operate your system efficiently without any hardware crash or restart due to psu. dude i saw your first link and i was shocked, worried and [censored], ive been using this psu for 2 months and still nothing happened. play games, overclocking etc. so ive searched the internet about whats the worst thing that could happen about an overloaded power supply. and they said that "Since most quality PSUs have protection against overloading"

bro got a question for you. Dya think that this psu has protection for overloading? Or is there a chance for this Power supply to explode and set fire? what do you think the worst thing that could happen. BTW i used a power supply calculator and said that my system needs 477 watts

Protection? Almost certainly not. It could catch fire, but it's reasonably unlikely. Generally they just go bang, and occasionally take out other stuff.

I think Gigabyte disappointed me cause i trusted them, theyre giving good qualities of video cards and motherboards. so I thought their PSU's are good too. Cant believe they chose acbel to be their manufacturer

Dude is there something bad gonna happen if:
for example my pc comsumption is 300 watts and im using this gigabyte greenmax 550 watts from acbel.
Is there still a chance for this to set fire even if im not stressing it out?

Probably not.

But excessive ripple can cause instability at times. I would replace it.

AcBel isn't horrible. But it's not good.

darn it! I still cant buy a good PSU. If only you can understand a student's life...Summer = No allowance hahaha. Anyways gigabyte lost my trust, cant believe i made a wrong move bout buying this PSU 2 months ago. I was persuaded by the name Gigabyte cause I know that they bring good mobos and video cards. and the case says that it can load up to 700watts and "Japan made capacitors. But 2 weeks ago Ive read that this PSU's OEM is Acbel.

■Only for 220-250V areas.
■Not 80+ certified
■Corsair's cheaped out on the caps in their low end PSUs, so they might fail early

I'd avoid it.

XFX Pro 550W is a significantly better PSU, usually for the same or less.

How do you expect him/her to use a 220-250V PSU in the US, if that's where s/he is?
