my system is as follows:
CPU: i7 4770k
MB: asus z87-pro
cpu cooler: CoolerMaster Seidon 120XL (water cooler)
VGA: GTX 770 EVGA
PSU: Thermaltake TR2 RX 1000W
midtower thermaltake case

OC settings from BIOS
AI overclock tuner=XMP
CPU core ratio: Sync all cores at core ratio limit= 40
CPU core voltage: Manual mode at 1.14v

used 3ds max to render high resolution frame for 6 hours using 100% cpu at 4000mhz for each core

I monitored performance using OCCT>
core 0 : max temp =86c
core 1 : max temp =88c
core 2 : max temp =85c
core 3 : max temp =78c

max vcore reached = 1.2v

from what i read in the forum... i think these temperatures are very high for OCing at 4000mhz only with a watercooler... but i can't know the reason

Also I want to know why core-3 temp. is lower than the other cores by about 10c??

Solution
Thank God... After trying to modify things and playing around I was able to reduce some degrees
What I did is
1- I removed the whole cpu cooler unit (Seidon 120xl) including the radiator and the 2 fans
2- removed the upper exhaust fan
3- cleaned the cpu and the cpu cooler copper part... then added thermal paste (Pea method) and fixed the cpu cooler
4- Now the important part..
instead of attaching the radiator and fans at the back of the Case... I attached it to the top as an exhaust
5- I then took the top fan... and put it on the back of the Case as an intake
6- Also in the bios --> monitor--> I set all fan settings to turbo

now I tried to test again by rendering the 3ds max scene an here's the results

at oc 4000mhz and vcore 1.14...

i already tried this
I removed the cpu cooler from the motherboard and tried to spread the thermal paste with my finger... but i think i made it worse and i don't have new thermal paste now... then I re-assembled the cpu cooler again on the mb... and nothing changed.... temp are still high!

If i get a new thermal paste and put it... will it make any difference??

You ALWAYS clean the thermal paste if you lift the cooler off the CPU. Take 90% or higher spirit/alcohol with no oils (or at least less than 5% oils) and clean both the cpu and the cooler from any thermal compound. Then apply a thing, almost transparent layer of the paste by spreading it with a business card (bare fingers make things worse, because of the oil on your finger, and spreading with a glove does not give very even layer) or place a pea sized blob in the center and press. I personally use the spread card method. If you have too much paste - it becomes an isolator.

Thanks... I'll try this tomorrow isA
I watched some videos on how to clean the cpu and put paste using the pea method...
will try it and tell you if there's any differences in temps :)

do u suggest specific brand for the thermal paste to buy?
i watched a video which suggested Arctic Silver 5 or Tuniq ... what do u think?

I suggest any non-conductive compound. Since conductive compounds may damage components if it leaks on the motherboard for example. You don't need to fork you for a 20 bucks paste.

The Arctic Silver 5 is a very good compound. But be very careful - it is electrically conductive, so be wary not to get any on the CPU socket or on the motherboard.

I got Thermaltake TG-2 thermal grease.... that's what i could find
anyway I cleaned the cpu and the water cooler and applied the thermal paste using pea method... i re-attached the cpu cooler but this time rotated at 90 degrees

now i tried the same test of rendering on 3ds max the same scene and the temps is approx the same if not higher :S

yes it's tighten properly and the fan on the radiator is spinning...

I also tried now to put the stock intel cpu fan to check the temps with the same settings...

I got these temps

core 0 : max temp =90c
core 1 : max temp =92c
core 2 : max temp =89c
core 3 : max temp =81c

I am also having a high temperature issue with my 4770k. I have reseated and reapplied it and have done this enough times over the years to feel confident that I am doing it correctly. Unfortunately I believe it isnt my improper installation that is the culprit but instead a poor integrated TIM installation from Intel. The only solution is probably delidding. Perhaps you are suffering the same bad luck.

did u resolve the temp problem by deliding??
I heard that deliding is not an easy task... and can damage the cpu??

I have not attempted to delid it yet. I will probably wait until my warranty period is over as it will void any warranty and while my temperatues are high they are still within the safe zone when I use it for the typical things that I do.

Stress tests or F@H on the other hand will cause it to hit upper 80's+. I will just avoid doing much of either until I have delided the thing.

cores temperatures are at mid 60s degrees instead of mid 80s !!!

Here's a snip for the OCCT while rendering

and here's a photo for my desktop and fans and cooler arrangements

Thanks a lot for the Help Shneiky
