Solution
If it is a standard power supply i fear it will not give enough power to both the graphic card and the motherboard. Can you please send me the pic of the sticker pasted on your power supply so i can be sure if you need a graphic card.

Don't spend £400-500, it'd be a total waste.

You probably need a new PSU, if that's a random no-name PSU that came with a case. The XFX Core 550 is £47 and it'll run more or less any graphics card you fancy.

Your CPU might end up being the bottleneck in some tasks so spending silly amounts on graphics is pointless. Settling for something in the range of an R9 270X or GTX760 is perhaps the most sensible region, as they will play any game on the market at 1080P with most settings turned up.

That'd be about £200-250 which is roughly half your budget, and I wouldn't suggest spending huge amounts more.
