I have an SSD and I'm running XP. My Boot Sector goes bad on a regular basis (once or twice a month) and I need to do a FixBoot. Is there a way to prevent the Boot Sector from going bad so often?

Solution
You need do the maintenance job for the SSD once for while, like less than two weeks, using the Garbage Collection function just closing all the programs and log off the PC, do not turn off the PC, because you said you need to do the fixboot once or twice a month.
During the cloning to the SSD, the files will not go back into the bad block of the SSD because there are a lot of blocks in the SSD, and the files will only go into the health one. That may help.

I seemed to have solve the problem by doing a system "clean up", getting rid of thousands of unseen tmp files and unneeded registry data using Speedy PC Pro. Takes about a day to remove all the tmp files but worth it. Also resets some programs to default.
