Is an 800W PSU good for this card? And If I decided to crossfire them in the future could it handle two of them?

More about : psu powercolor 280x

Thanks for the answer! I have one more question if you don't mind, I see the card requires a 6+2 Pin connector. The PSU I'm looking at only has one 6+2, if I crossfire these cards do I need two 6+2 connectors? Or do you need to only hook up one with the 6+2 and then a crossfire cable is used to hook up the second one?

if your psu is a semi-modular or fully modular you can get a 6+2 cable. if its not modular its not recommended for crossfire.

I'm actually upgrading my PSU. Just bought the card online and I'm looking for a 750W-800W PSU that is compatible with this card for around $100.

You want at least a 750W or preferably 850W to run dual 280x while leaving some headroom for your cpu, drives, fans, etc etc. This is especially important if you plan on overclocking as they are quite power hungry GPUs when under load.

@DoubleTake Thanks, If a 750W could handle crossfiring with my system then I'll go with it.

@ModernWarfare Buying that PSU on Newegg, they have a $20 off promo code plus a mail-in rebate.
