Whenever i plug in my toshiba mypassport 2tb in my windows 8.1 machine, it will not recognize it, with no warning in the File Explorer. Going in Devices it recognizes it and does not pick up any troubleshooting problems...i Remove the Device and plug it back it in, it says installing necessary driver.. then in the File Explorer it says Local Disk (E) and will take forever loading it...my internet will not work...and my computer slows down.

Toshiba do not make a "My Passport". Don't you mean Western Digital My Passport?
It may be faulty. Test it with WD Data LifeGuard Diagnostic: http://support.wd.com/product/download.asp?groupid=605&sid=3&lang=en
Note: ignore the hard drive illustration shown on the page. The software supports any WD drive.
