Hi all,

Twice recently, I have turned on the power to my computer (switch on the back on PSU) to be met with nothing but a blinking green light on the motherboard and my power button (on the front) flashing.
The 1st occasion was after a gaming session of a few hours, I shut down the computer but instead of powering down, it then fired up the fans + LEDs for a second, turned them off, turned back on etc. I turned it off at the switch, turned it back on but the same thing happened. I turned off the switch and left it overnight and the following morning it worked first time, no problems.
It has been about a week since this happened with me gaming and using Adobe Premiere daily in the meantime.
The 2nd occasion happened just now, I unplugged my computer and did some cable management before putting the plug back in and flipping the switch. The same thing happened as the first time. This time however, I tried - Using a surge protector - Swapping power sockets - Leaving it to flash for 5 minutes - Unplug the cable several times - Flip the switch several times - Press the power button several times all to no avail.
I left it for an hour whilst I googled some solutions, came back, flipped the switch, fired without a hitch. I'm tempted to ignore it, just deal with not being able to use it for an hour or so here or there but I'm guessing there is an underlying problem here...

The things I find confusing are 1. The problem fixes itself over an hour or so. 2. I play games etc. for quite a while each day with no problem, before it randomly happens again. 3. Why has this started after nearly 4 months of daily gaming?

I'm rather loathed to take it all apart without an idea as to what could be wrong, so I beg you wonderful people for answer :)

Solution
Try holding the power button for 5-10 seconds after the Power Supply switch is "OFF" to clear the components of trace electricity. Do you always switch your power supply off when you turn the PC off?
