i have a msi ge70 i7 3630qm it is suppose to go to 3.4 ghz on turbo but it only goes to 2.4 on tests like heavyload and 3d mark it says 2.4 ghz. I tried disabling speedstep but it didn't do anything. What should I do? The lack of cpu power is making me lose fps in games

Sounds like a heat issue.
my advise is to check if the fans are still working. or maybe the collected a lot of dust over the months, you can have it cleaned. also, getting a laptop cooler may help in your situation.

it shouldn't if it's being properly cooled, also speedstep is for throttling "down" (turbo is "up"), i would suggest to have it back on again. how long have you been using this laptop?
