Sorry if this is the wrong place to be asking but I never really post on forums much. I am very much confused about purchasing a new card because its safe to say I know very little about computers insides haha. So I come to you guys, the community, to help me figure out this ordeal, but first, here are some specs.

Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1
System Manufacturer: ASUSTeK Computer INC.
System Model: CG5270
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8300 @ 2.50GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.5GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM

and for the card itself:

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GT 220
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
Chip type: GeForce GT 220

So is there anything else you guys need to know to help me? The point here is that I would like to be able to play more modern games, which atm I can to an extent, but at the cost of using minimum settings. So any ideas on what I should be looking for? Max I am willing to pay atm is around $200 bucks.

A side note, I read that i would probably need to upgrade my power supply as well? My current one is 400 watts.
