Lag and or Delay

I have played Counter Strike for 11 years. I have been playing CS:GO for some time now and have been getting terrible reg and just thinking it was the game and went along with it. Lately I have been complaining a lot because it is getting really really bad. I can shoot a player 3-5 times before they even react and get 0-1 hits on a very regular basis. People are telling me that I didn't even fire. So what I'm trying to figure out. I have a "fast" connection. 50M dl 15 up. and play on servers under 50ms. Playing on i5 2320, GeForce 760 gtx, 12 gb ram. Everything should be ok. Is it possible that I have a fast connection and everything seems ok for example if I did a speed check online but there is a delay in that speed and have a 2-3 second delay before it is fast? And when I do a speedtest online should it jump right up to 50 or will it gradually climb to that fast speed? Thank you for your help. Angry Gamer...

It should jump directly to max speed (which is advertised by the ISP) on speedtest online. As far as I have used, the speed doesn't climb to the max rather it shoots up to the max and then moves up and down a bit till the test is completed.
As far as the problem goes your PC is an overkill for CS. If you have a delay (2-3 seconds is huge) then it is possible that other people 'think' that you haven't shot. 2-3 second delay in any online game is terrible. Are you sure your bandwidth is not occupied by another application or another device? Is anyone in your home downloading data when you play? 50Mb is high but if someone is using all that bandwidth then your game will get affected. Don't download and play.
BTW your CS 1.6/1.2/Source...
Check your line quality at a site like pingtest.net and see what it tells you. Yes it is possible to have a high speed connection but a bad quality connection to the internet. Sometimes problems are with your ISP and sometimes the problems are within you local LAN.

BTW your CS 1.6/1.2/Source runs fine? And 50ms is still high. I play 1.6 on less than 20ms only.
