Okay, so I know what you're thinking: Not another "PC Freezing thread" *sighs...*

But here's the deal. I've read through countless forum threads about possible issues and tests. I've tried everything.

My Issue:
I'll be playing a game-doesn't matter which-and my game will start to freeze. I can keep playing for the most part, but it's 1-2 second freezing. My character will freeze in motion and everything will come back only to show my dead body. The audio freezes and glitches along with it sometimes, and sometimes my audio cuts out completely and I can't even hear but just the beginning of every game sound. My programs crash a lot. Even after a fresh re-install chrome pretty much freezes all the time and I have to end process bc it's (Not Responding) and even switching to Firefox helped, but it still crashed on occasion-even if I'm not doing anything super intensive. It seems to freeze more often when watching videos, but I have the latest version of flash player. Sometimes games freeze up completely and I have to hard shut down. Also, in games it seems to freeze most often when enemy players come on screen-especially up close.

What I've done to fix it:
I ran memtest and got no problems. I bought a new PSU that had wonderful reviews. I tried my GPU in a friend's PC and had no problems. I bought a 250GB SSD and reinstalled Windows on it and days after my original HDD died so I bought a second 250GB SSD to backup and save videos to, etc etc. I installed a different Antivirus (went from AVG to Avast) just in case that was doing something funny. I ran CCleaner multiple times and registry cleaner too. I bought some PC cleaning software that I can't remember the name of-but that had the best reviews of anything I could find-and have since uninstalled it due to minor other issues it was causing. I then bought new RAM just in case bc I didn't very thoroughly test the ram. None of these things have worked.

The only things I have left to blame are my CPU-which hasn't seemed to give me any problems-, my GPU-which could in my mind be the issue but it's way too expensive to risk replacing, or my Motherboard-which I bought "Open Box" for $50, and could very well be my issue too but at this point I have no idea.

My PC Specs:
MoBo Asus M5A97 LE R2.0
CPU: AMD FX 6300
GPU: EVGA GTX 660 (Non-Ti)
PSU: 650w Solid Gear Neutron
RAM: 8GB G.Skill Sniper @1866MHz (Had to OC in Bios to get it to run at normal speed)
SSDs: Samsung Evo 840 250GB & Samsung 840 250GB
Case: Antec 302
Headset (just in case): Plantronics Gamecom 780

Nothing is OC'd above factory specs.
Any and all responses would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you in advance!

What version of windows are you using?

Have you tried an RAM XMP profile to run it at 1600 Mhz ?

I'm running windows 7 Professional 64-bit and I'm not sure what you mean by that. Honestly I just followed a tutorial on YouTube to get the ram running correctly, as the mobo only supports 1866 if it's OC'd. I could try under clocking it, but my old ram was running at 1600 (factory speed was 1333 but I OC'd it to 1600) and I had the same issues. :/  I'll definitely try anything, though.

An XMP is an "extreme memory profile "
Your BIOS may give you several to choose from at various speeds and timings . Try 1600 Mhz and 1.5 volts
