What is the best asus z87 for the money

I have been looking into these motherboards and I am very interested in basing my 800$ build around them. This will be my first build so I am a bit confused at telling the difference between all the asus z87 models. I think the asus z87-a is the basic model, and I think the z87 deluxe has more features. Is there some models in between that perform better than the z87-a, but are less expensive than the z87 deluxe

For a $800 build I'd go for the z87-A. It is an excellent mobo for the price and not too expensive so you can put money to where it is really needed so build isn't imbalanced.

I'd say the Z87 Plus, but I don't know exactly what you're looking for in terms of features.

There's lots of other stuff besides wifi - sata2, sata3, esata, usb2, usb3, uefi, phases,ram slots and speed, pcie slots and speed, bios flash, + (?)

So how many drives, how much ram, how many graphics cards, how many usb ports, etc do you want to use? (Now and later down the track)

Think the Z87-A should be plenty for you, it's a great mobo, a lot of bang for the buck

Id assume the Z87A is comparable in 1150 as the P8Z77V-LK is in the 1155, i wished i bought an LK instead of an LX lol
