Hey guys, I recently built a pc with the R7 260x and whenever I play games that give stress to the card, I hear a high pitch buzzing noise and I did some research to see that many people consider this to be coil whine. When I exit out of the game , alt tab, or whenever the screen isn't displaying/rendering the graphics, the sound immediately stops. However, I did some tweaking on the clocks using the afterburner and i noticed that if i bring down the clock speed (core/memory), then the sound gets quieter the more I go down. Should I just keep the clock speed at a level that does not make any noise? How much will this actually effect my fps/gameplay/graphics if I do end up underclocking to a low point to keep the coil whine off? What do you guys suggest I do? Thanks in advance!

Specs:

CPU: AMD FX-6300 six core

GPU: AMD Radeon r7 260x oc version (MSI)

CASE: Aero Cool StrikeX One

PSU: Antec vp-550f

RAM: Forgot the actual brand and name but I know its 2 sticks with 2 gb ram per stick.

HDD: WD 500gb

It is possible that something is stuck inside fan of GPU as when you minimize the game GPU load decrease and so Fan speed and as you underclock it it's temperature will decrease and so Fan speed open one side of your cabin run any game and try to figure out exactly from where the sound is coming and then take it out and try to spin the fan of GPU and see if something is stuck there and creating noise.
