Hi..
I have a Seagate FreeAgent Go USB 320GB external HDD.
The HDD is detected in My Computer (Local Disk (E:)) and Device Manager. But it doesnot open.
I have tried to use disk management, but it says connecting to Virtual Disk Service and hangs.

Tried Seagate Disk recovery and Other Softwares, but all Hang up.
I have also tried to access it through cmd prompt and again it hangs.

Can someone help in this matter? Is there any software/method to open the disk?

Regards
Nishant

Solution
Test the drive first with Seagate SeaTools for Windows to see if it's faulty:
http://www.seagate.com/support/downloads/item/seatools-win-master/

Use the Long/Extended test as it's more thorough than the short test.

If the drive fails the test it will have to be replaced. If you need data off it you'll have to pay a data recovery specialist service, so hopefully you have already got the data backed up to another drive to avoid that expense.
