So I have a AMD Ahtlon II X3 440 Processor and a Geforce GTX 650 Ti.
It runs fine and stuff, but it unfortionaly can't record. It is probobly because the CPU is too old to work with my GPU,
but my question is would a AMD Phenom II X4 965 be able to record without dropping to 18 FPS?

Well, long story short, I just need a processor with AM3 that doesn't bottleneck my GPU

If not, is there any other processsors that you could recommend? I have a Socket AM3

The Minimum that you want is AMD FX 4100 $100. Also it depends on what kind of recording software that you are using. FRAPS will eat frames. If you use NVIDIAs Shadowplay you will not take a frame-rate hit at all. If I am nit mistaken this was a feature in their new update this week.

Some manufacturers have brought AM3+ support to some of their AM3 motherboards via a simple BIOS upgrade.[4] Mechanical compatibility has been confirmed and it's possible for AM3+ CPUs to fit in AM3 boards, provided they can supply enough peak current. Another issue is the use of the sideband temperature sensor interface for reading the temperature from the CPU. Therefore, some CPU PWM fan pins may only run at full speed. Also, certain power-saving features may not work, due to lack of support for rapid VCore switching.[5]

Well, I have a HP G5248sc Motherboard, if that is the right thing I'm reading.
Is that one upgradable via BIOS? And if it is, how would I upgrade it?

I am abit of a noob.

Go to the motherboard manufacturer's website and see if they have the updates

Sorry for the extreme late answer, but I found a processor that I'm going to buy, so everything is fine.
But I have 8 Gigabytes of Ram.
