Hey guys,

So i'm in the process of either purchasing another gtx680 to sli with my current one.

(My 680 is an msi lightning the one im going to buy is an evga superclocked...both are 2gb)

I have just come across an msi lightning gtx780 for $320 so should i just ditch sli on my 680 and upgrade to a 780?

The 2nd 680 will cost me $310 and i have found a waterblock for it for $50 but still haven't found a waterblock for the 680 lightning yet...What should i do? It's for my wifes computer.

Cheers everyone.

tough call. on one hand, the 680s will perform better. a second 680 over a single 680 will perform about 95 percent better. meanwhile a 780 over a 680 will perform about 25-30 percent better.

on the other hand, the 780 has more ram and gives you more option for further expansion (780 sli.) plus you wouldnt have to worry about any of the problems with sli. additionally, a single 780 will consume way less power than 2x680.

what resolution do you play at? also, that is a hell of a deal on a 780. hard choice. i can see why you are asking

Yeah considering that getting the 780 is the same price as the second 680...i can then sell my 680 lightning to make most of the money back probably...

I play at 2560x1440 on a 27" IPS. (So 60hz)

Also it's either put both 680s in a loop or just one 780.

Such a tough choice!! :(
