Need more info. Are you connecting wirelessly? Do you have more than 1 item on the network? If so, are those devices losing their connection as well? If you let it sit does it come back on it's own, ever? When it happens can you ping other devices on your LAN, but nothing on the internet side?

I am currently using both ethernet and Wireless I have programmed a wirless range extender which is connected to the Router and from the range extrender i connected the ethernet cable and i also use wifi. yes my phone, Dad's laptop are also using the same network and sometimes the DSL Bulb in the router goes off and then starts reconnecting but that is after around 4-5 minutes
Do you have the same issue if you bypass the router? If your router is messing up after so much time, one thing I would look into is if lots of traffic is coming in or going out. P2P software and flood a router quite easily by making a lot of connections, even if not using a lot of bandwidth.
