My Computer Not Loading ANY attached HDDs

I recently made some changes to services running on my system (there were too many eating up cycles), and in the midst of that, my RAID 10 system degraded.

After all this though, my "My Computer" WinExplorer window is no longer loading the attached disks to the system? This was happening before I discovered the RAID had died, and assumed it was related to this, despite my system/os disk being unaffected by that.

Now however it seems not to be. It's rather distressing and annoying - I thought perhaps I disabled a Windows service that might affect this? I don't know which it would be though, I reenabled Windows Search, thinking it might affect it, but it doesn't apparently.

Is there another potential cause for this? I've had some issues finding out what to call this searching for similar cases - most of these problems involve 'not recognizing' HDDs, which is NOT my issue.

No no... not the problem at all perhaps I'm not explaining correctly...

the "My Computer" folder doesn't load any of the attached disk volumes - it shows the small magnifying glass icons... as if its searching for attached disks... but never loads them.

The disks are all there and are all fine - they all appear in Disk Manager fine.

I've read around, apparently it does exist often as a malware problem.. but I've scanned with 3 entities, nothing comes up. I don't think it's that as this seems related to my other drive issues.

1. I'm wondering if its possibly related to my having two unused SATA cables plugged into the motherboard, but the disks attached to them disconnected... I doubt this as it was like this before and there were no issues.

2. I assume it's not related to my failed RAID array, as I fixed that.

3. I assume it IS related to disabling a process or service or some sort... OR...

4. It's something else entirely that I don't know about.
