G-sync not working?

So I have a gtx 760, and a BenQ gl2450 and I tried to 'overclock' my monitor in the NVIDIA control panel using G-sync, which went fine, I overclocked to 75hz from 60 and it said test successful and everything in the 'create custom resolution' tab but when i go back to the change resolution and try to change my resolution from there 75Hz does not show.... any help?

EDIT: also in games it does not give me 75hz option

What do you exactly mean by overclocking your monitor? That has nothing to do with G-sync and I've never heard of anyone who has changed the refresh rate of a monitor. What G-sync is: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/g-sync/technology

As you can see, G-sync only makes the refresh rate sync with your fps up to a certain point and also needs to be supported by the monitor.

i've seen people upgrade their monitor from 60hz to 80 etc. here is one example i just found https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QUbVGJMrqM it might not be anything to do with g-sync.... i thought it did. maybe not though. just tell me if i'm being an idiot but i've known people who have increased their fps cap.

Well it seems it is possible after all. However, it has nothing to do with G-sync. Things like these are really unstable and not very safe for your monitor so I recommend you to stay away from them. It might be that your particular monitor can't handle it and that's why its not working.
