Hi,
I want to build a PC (mostly used for gaming) and I want to know what you guys think of this build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3qWi4. I want to get it at the lowest price so I am not buying it right now. Probably when It will reach 450$ or less.

This is a much better build IMO:

I think you have to change the case OP, it says microATX, but your PSU is ATX (are micro ATX and ATX compatible? i don't remember), i would also change your CPU for an fx 6300 it is a better CPU, i think it is cheaper, hexacore, better power consumption, better in overall, rest is fine, i wouldn't get 4 Gb like the previous guy said, and that GPU is great for the price, in general it is a good rig

Thanks for your replies. I'll go with the FX-6300 and Cougar Solution (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case.

As much as i am risking it here, DON'T choose an athlon over an fx 6xxx, i have a friend with that CPU and he is not very happy, it might even bottleneck your 750 ti, plus that card is crazy new, fx 6xxx are more suited for today's cards than athlon line, also don't choose 4gb over 8gb in any case, i have 4gb...and is not very pleasant

The athlon wouldn't bottlneck a 750ti, but if he gets it he will have no upgrade path.

This is what I was going to pick initially but the Athlon X4 was cheaper so I went with it instead. This gives a decent upgrade path.

The Athlon 750K is a fine CPU and will push any modern video card at resolutions 1080p & up. It's not the fastest but works just dandy. The FM2+ platform works great and likely has an upgrade path for 2 generations of CPUs.

4GB for a low-budget rig is fine, too.

edit: The Athlon 750K performs on par with the PhII 955BE.

Aren't those motherboards kind of old? that socket was good in those days but nowadays you have hexa and octacores by amd, i insist you should go with AM3+ socket and an hexacore, they have very good price/performance ratio and they are MUCH more future proof

The upgrade path for the FM2+ socket is so far a bunch of APUs.

The upgrade path for the FM2+ socket is so far a bunch of APUs.

Athlon 750K is Trinity with Piledriver cores.
The Richland APUs are upgraded Trinity Piledriver cores.
The Kaveri APUs use Steamroller cores.

The next-gen Carrizo APU will likely be Steamroller cores with a dual DDR3/DDR4 IMC and expanded ISA including support for AVX2 with full 256-bit registers.

Next?
