Hey guys,

i recently paid for a graphics card from ebay not knowing that the PC i have also ordered comes with a graphics card installed. Please could you tell me which one I should use.

Nvidia GeForce GT545 (Already in the PC) OR ATI Radeon HD4850 X2 Graphics Card - 4x DVI outputs 2Gb (The graphics card i got ordered from ebay seperately)

the PC itself is Intel Core i5-2400s (@2.5 GHz), 8GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GT545, 1TB HDD
Also what should i expect performance wise. Say for example Battlefield 3 on low/med/high settings or WoW on low/med/high etc. Any examples would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance for any help offered :)

Well it's to replace a Dell Inspiron 530 Intel Celeron 420 1.6ghz with no graphics card. Mainly use it for work for programs such as adobe illustrator and inkscape. But being able to play some online games such as WoW, LOTRO etc would be nice. I had a tiny budget of £300 for the tower part only due to other work expenses. So would it run MMO types game decently? Wonder if its possible to upgrade this oneday then. Like a new cpu and gfx card, up the ram to 16GB? Surely that would make it hell of a lot better? Thanks guys

that processor is good, the amount of ram is optimal for gaming.

all you need is a decent gpu, and it would do very well in mmo games and bf3.

depending on the power supply it has. you might need to buy one.

the 4850 x2 is a LOT better than a gt 545 it is roughly equivalent to a gtx 280.

with that i5 + 4850 x2 you would be able to get decent fps in bf3 @ medium.

i would cancel that order on that 4850 x2 though and make a thread here with your budget and have people help you in choosing.

what is the resolution of your monitor?

thanks for your replies guys this really is helping :) I got the 4850 x2 for £30 off ebay. I'll put that in, sell the GT 545 (or keep as a spare) but look to get something around the £100 mark sometime. Im not sure of the PSU thats in there to be honest. What would you suggest for under £100(max) btw this is a Dell xps studio 8100. thanks
