I am looking at buying a 24" Full HD LED TV (AOC LE24A1332/61 LED) to be used as a monitor for my two laptops. One laptop has HDMI whereas the other has the VGA (15-pin D-sub) output only.

Shall I be able to get 1080p resolution on the TV using the 15-pin D-Sub as well?

Yes, VGA can support 1080p 60Hz, just be sure not to use a too long cable as that can degrade the quality of the picture when using analog cables (like VGA/D-sub).
