What ram for that motherboard/CPU

Hi,
i have really no idea how to find if ddr 3 will work with that specifiation. And what will be the proper xxxxMhz value? Thanks for any help!

click on the memory tab. and show us that.

for Core 2 duo it's 50:50 some mobo's were ddr2 and some were ddr3.

I want to add more memory or replace it with faster one.

According to chipsets its a p5k lga 775 p35 mobo, dunno specific level (delux, pro etc) these Asus boards show ddr2 800/1066.

I thought the P5K's were DDR3 and it was the 965's etc. that were DDR2.

anyway, OP. you can only use what you already have, so if you are currently DDR2 then that is what you can use, and for that platform 800 was the ideal.

There are like 4 slots on the motherboard and only 2 are used (2x1gb). In that case, can i just buy for example 2x2 DDR 800 mhz add them to those which i have right now?

Depends on windows. If you have a 32 bit version it will only recognise up to 4Gb of ram. So best you could do would be 2x2Gb DDR 2 @800 or 1066 (depending on exactly which mobo you have, its printed on the board) used in slots 2&4 count from CPU-out.
