Hey everyone,

I just got my new gaming rig and was wondering what the safe operating temperature of a GPU is?

I just want to know when I am playing games and things, what should I expect to see and when (if ever) should I be concerned about the temp.

Also, what is a good application to use to monitor this on Windows 8.1, if there is one?

All information is very helpful! Thanks in advance. :D

Use MSI Afterburner. I love that program. As for temps, most cards throttle if they go above 75C and you don't have to worry about any real damage until they pass 90C. My old 770 never got above 70C even when overclocked. On another note, I've seen cards run at 80C constantly with no issue. It does shorten the lifespan, but 7 years shortened to 5 isnt really that big of an issue since you'll probably upgrade long before it dies.
