I've just bought a new 780Ti gfx card and it has two 8 pin power sockets. do i use two separate pci-E cables from the psu or just a single cable that has a pair of 6+2 plugs on it? Also what is the molex splitter for? it is an 8 plug to 2x 6pin plugs?

Either solution will work. The Molex splitter too.

Thanks folks, I assume i plug both bits of the single cable in? The set up pamphlet says to connect the "appropriate" power plug into the auxiliary socket, but doesn't define which one is the aux.

as long as its plugged in correctly. if you did anything wrong it wouldnt fit. its job is to receive power from the psu to gpu you're fine :) .

Yeah, it should be fine. Power supplies are pretty simple, if it won't work, it won't fit.
