Best CPU for Asus M2N Mobo?

Hello,

i own an Asus M2N motherboard and my current CPU is athlon 64x2 6000+ (3.01gh) and i feel like it is time for an upgrade. I cannot afford a whole new socket right now, so i would like to know which is the best possible CPU that my M2N motherboard can take?

This is the exact model in speccy asus m2n MCP61 a2

i don't think it is worthy to upgrade your system any more better cpu than that. The performance difference would null even if you upgraded your cpu. Almost all of the better processor than yours will be out of stock, for example:

I would say to save the money and go with better future upgrade when time comes and you have money in your hand.

Hello, thanks for the response.

I guess it is not worth upgrading since i cannot put a Phenom on this motherboard, i should have bought the M2N-E version instead.
